| Dread Knight |
| When the Dread Knight was announced, former Shadow Knights rejoiced. Many in the community assumed that the Dread Knight would just be a retooled Shadow Knight, a dark warrior wielding dark magic. But then Elidroth and Tagad shattered these preconceptions. "Dread Knights are /not/ Shadow Knights," Tagad explained. "Don't simply think 'evil knight' -- though it will be one of the classes that certainly lends itself to this." The Dread Knight uses magic to inspire soul-shattering terror in the hearts of their foes. What exactly that means remains to be seen, though psychological warfare seems likely given the "Dreadful Countenance" ability.
The Dread Knight will have some crowd control abilities in the form of a fairly long duration stun. This stun will break if the mob takes damage, so it works similar to a mesmerize. This gives the Dread Knight the ability to keep an enemy out of the action. Depending on the duration of the stun and the recast time, this might be a way to hold a mob out of the action completely until the group is ready to deal with them, or it may only be a partial crowd control method.
